How to cause cracks in the inner and outer ring grooves of self-aligning roller bearings
Self-aligning roller bearings often have cracks or fractures during use, but there are many factors that can cause cracks or fractures, and each factor has different damage to the self-aligning roller bearings, including the damaged parts. Today, the bearing manufacturer will share with you the cracks and cracking factors of the inner and outer ring grooves of self-aligning roller bearings.
1. Factors of bearing inner race raceway cracking
When the self-aligning roller bearing passes through the rough grinding of the inner race raceway, the individual races will have deep cracks or peeling, even perpendicular to the grinding direction of the grinding wheel. This is mainly caused by many small cracks near the oil groove. These small cracks are due to the reserved magnetic particles in the raceway ring, and the magnetic particles will produce small scratches by friction with the raceway surface, After wire cutting, serious cracking reaction will occur, and even the whole material will fall off from the raceway surface of self-aligning roller bearing. In addition to the above factors, there is also a case where the grinding heat is generated due to the high temperature, which accelerates the heat emission and also causes the inner ring cracking. To avoid cracking, the grinding heat generation must be reduced.
2. Factors of cracking of bearing outer race raceway
When cracks or cracks appear on the outer ring surface of self-aligning roller bearings, the common cracks are typical grinding cracks, which are caused by factors such as excessive grinding volume or poor grinding process conditions. Moreover, when the tempering of the outer ring of the self-aligning roller bearing is not sufficient, it will also cause grinding cracking. This phenomenon will occur even when current is encountered in the process of use. Of course, the current referred to here is not high intensity current, but ordinary relatively weak current. With the operation of time, the annular pit will slowly form corrugated grooves. These grooves generally appear on the contact surface of the roller and the ring raceway, but there are no grooves on the steel ball of the self-aligning roller bearing, which only changes in color, This is mainly because the corrugated grooves are equidistant, and the bottom of the grooves on the raceway is dark, which will affect the darkening of the steel ball. In addition, the factors that cause the crescent-shaped burn layer on the fracture of the outer groove ring of the self-aligning roller bearing are: the transverse cracks which are basically perpendicular to the grinding direction and are distributed in parallel are caused. After the cracks are generated, they rapidly extend into the groove until the entire fracture.
